Minnesota's Beyond the Veil

Seeking the Spirited side of Minnesota

Day vs Night

When is the best time to go ghost hunting?

Don’t restrict your ghost hunting to just one time of the day.  Spirits are active both during the day as well as the nigh. It’s just that you will capture them in different ways.

I like ghost hunting during the day much better then during the nighttime. But I am open to go during the evening hours just as well.

During the day

If you have to go ghost hunting alone; (I don’t recommend you doing this. It’s much safer if you have someone to go with you) this is the best time to do so.

It really doesn’t matter what time you go during the day but conditions dose matter. A cloudy day is the best day. The harsh sunshine will dilute the specter image and it would be hard to find them on your photos. Cloudy days dilute the sun.  Early morning or early evening before sundown is also an ideal time.  During the day you may get parcel image. You may get a head and shoulders or fading image. They are more translucent; but with a good eye you will be able to see them.

Nighttime

During the evening hours, you need to be more careful; it would be very easy to trip over something unseen or step on uneven ground. You also have the problem of dew forming which would look like orbs, and unseen bugs flying around. But beyond all this, here you can capture orbs, mists, and sprites.

Which ever time you prefer to try, remember keep an open mind and keep yourself flexible to other possibilities
