Minnesota's Beyond the Veil

Seeking the Spirited side of Minnesota

Minnesota’s Beyond the Veil is the only group that has been invited to investigate The Griggs Mansion. We have found that it is not haunted. We were able to find natural explanations for any events that had happened there.

Yet many other sites continue to post that The Griggs Mansion is haunted with out an investigation.

As a result of this false claim of a haunting, owners of places such as this are pestered by people who seek an opportunity to investigate the area. I have found so many locations that really do have spiritual activity that we do not need to add false claims to the list.

Minnesota’s Beyond the Veil refuses to post a location unless we have investigated and found spiritual activity present.

Though many of our locations are private homes and to keep the clients name and location private we have changed the names. For private locations see case investigations. This page is for a list of public locations that you may be able to visit.

Cemeteries

Cemeteries are always a good place to start looking for spirits. There is always some around.

Mausoleum in Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights

There are 2 mausoleums here. We were investigating both. In both we captured evps.

In the newer one we got a voice of a woman saying “I’m dead”

Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis has a huge mausoleum. It has 2 floors.

One day a worker was locking up the mausoleum while she was doing so she was checking to make sure no one was in there. On the lower level, as she was getting ready to go to the first floor she saw a woman standing by the ladies rest rooms. The worker was surprised as she had just checked the area and no one was there. The woman said to her “I am looking for my mother” The worker quickly looked up and down the hall wondering how she could have missed anyone. When she turned back to the lady she was gone. There was no way the women could have gotten past her with out her noticing it. The worker quickly went to the office to get the guard to help check the mausoleum. When the guard asked her to describe the lady, it was only then she realized that the lady was dressed in old fashion clothing.

My group has gone to this mausoleum. While there we heard some strange sounds when no one was around. We could hear the metal gate closing and the sound of conversations in the distance. When I tried to capture evps I asked if anyone would talk to us. I did get a woman’s voice saying no on the upper level. On the lower level while sitting quietly, I could hear the sound of drums playing in the distance. I was quite puzzled and did check outside to see if I could hear this. No drums were heard out side. I did find out that before they started to play taps, they used to play snare drums when they buried a military man or someone important.

Historical Locations

The George Christian House, home of Hennepin County Historical Society

I and my group have been to this location several times.

This building once a private home, now houses the Hennepin Historical Society. They have quite a collection of objects from all over the state. They also have a few spirits that wonder throughout the building.

As you examine the artifacts, you may encounter a lovely aroma of Lilacs or the smell of hey or cut grass. No it’s not your imagination; it’s just 2 of the spirits crossing your path. Watch for doors of the cupboards to open on it's own. Bring your tape recorder and have it running from the time you walk into the building. You will capture voices of these restless spirits.

Here is just one sample of the evp we got here.

It's a man asking for help

Strait house – Jordan Minnesota

The Strait house is one of the few houses remaining from a failed town called St. Lawrence. It is located in the DNR’s Minnesota Valley Recreation Area. People can visit the home by appointment. A 5.00 parking fee is required.

The house was built in 1857 by Samuel B. Strait.

I was surprised to find this house to have spiritual activity in it. I did capture 2 voices while there. One a gruff voice of a man the other of a woman.

St Paul Cathedral

The Cathedral is a land mark in St. Paul. Through its long history there have been many emotional events within its walls, such as weddings, funerals and various religious events. I have heard that churches were likely to be haunted and I wanted to find out if this was true. One day I and a few members went to St. Paul’s Cathedral after they had mass and it was quite inside. I must have taken hundreds of photos in one there was a surprise waiting for me.

I will have to take the time to explore more churches in Minnesota to see if any of them also come up with such an amazing picture

These pews (seats) were all empty to the eye. But not on the camera
